With airlines beginning to entice us back on board, boarders opening up again and our wanderlust starting to eat us up inside, it’s a real temptation to get packing already and book that £25 flight to Barcelona in September. We’ve waited long enough, right? We deserve a holiday now! Right? Not quite…
Don’t get me wrong, I love love love travel and I can’t wait to go away again. But I can’t help thinking how paranoid and on edge I’d be getting close to people again and touching everything. A holiday is meant to be an escape from reality and a chance to leave all your stresses at home, but how can you shake off the stress of social distancing this soon?? If I’m spending hundreds of pounds on an exciting getaway I want to be able to let loose and relax, which I really don’t think I’ll be able to do until at least next year.
This is just a personal decision of mine, being the wimp that I am (I haven’t even been in a supermarket since lockdown…) and I know lots of you wouldn’t be as paranoid as me, hence why the title of this post isn’t ‘Why you shouldn’t travel in 2020’, because everyone’s different and if boarders are opening and airlines are beginning to fly again, it must be somewhat safer out there now. So if you feel safe and ready then absolutely go for it. I just know you won’t catch me on a plane ‘til the new year!
Safe travels!
Em Wanders x
